Time is Out of Joint in China
A selection of masterpieces from the National Gallery is leaving for China until 2023. The artworks will be exhibited in two temporary exhibitions in Beijing and Shanghai: The Infinite Universe of Wuji e 100 Years of Modern Art.
The exhibitions, promoted by the Ministry of Culture in the Year of Culture and Tourism Italy–China, will celebrate the National Gallery and Time is Out of Joint, the current exhibition of the collections.
A precious opportunity to introduce and admire to a new, numerous and distant public, some of the most representative masterpieces of the museum ever exhibited in China.
The intense activity of outgoing loans to Italy and abroad continues – reaching more than 1258 in 8 years – which has allowed us to show, between substitutions and the 90 temporary exhibitions, to exhibit about 2000 works from our collections, including some never exhibited before and the new acquisitions.
